The second week-end of January, we have a tradition in our family; It's to make a king cake (or 'galette des rois') it's usually to celebrate the Epiphany.
It's an easy recipe, delicious but not for those on diet!!
it's made of butter, ground almonds, and ice sugar between two layers of flaky puff pastry.
I made it rectangular because it's easier for me but most of the Galettes in France are circular.
The fun thing is that we hide a little porcelain figurine in it and the person who finds it becomes the king or queen!...
