Entrance makeover (2)

Finally finished this hallway makeover!

So, I painted the white mirror in light cinnamon to match the wood on the door;

Apply some pretty birds and branches vinyls, finished to match all the switch plates and finally found a new coat hanger that fit (not perfectly the one I wanted but it fit!)...

New little set and step by step.

Here is my newest creation:
A cute little set with a photo frame, a little treasure box and a coordinate switch plate in a beautiful colour combo:

Here is how to transform some decorative items into pretty little details:
Here are a few items I wanted to decorate to make a little set: A picture frame (with chipboard flowers for the embellishments), a little box (and then I added a switch plate)

First you need to prepare your items by painting them in white (it helps to get a brighter colour of your napkin); Then cut all the pieces you'll need in your paper (once again paper napkins are my favorite!)

When the paint is dry (you might need to apply 2 layers), you can modpodge everything!:

At this point I thought of adding a mat to my frame and I wanted it assorted, so I chose to decoupage it with the brown swirls; I don't like to modpodge on cardstock, so I used heat-n-bond to apply my napkin on it:

A little journey under my iron, a few layers of varnish and some pearl embellishments and voila!:

Spring Yarn Wreath

The very first time I saw a yarn wreath was on Etsy in this fabulous shop.
Then I saw more and more on blog party and realized that I had everything in stock to make one;
So I am sorry if it's one more for you but here is mine!...

As I am not a knitter, I didn't know how much yarn I needed and I had only one ball of yarn in a specific color!  

I finally chose to use the eggshell yarn to wrap it around my Styrofoam wreath.

Will I have enough yarn?...

It's a long process (you need to be patient!), it took me 1h30 for only wrapping it around and as it's a repetitive movement, it woke my tendinitis a bit...

The answer is...Yes I had just enough yarn to finish wrapping around; I was really lucky! Not an inch more, just enough!



I like the texture and flair of this yarn.

Now I needed to find  some embellishments;
I had these pretty little crochet flowers (from this shop on Etsy, yes again!); it was one possibility but I wanted some felt flowers.

So I made few felted flowers (here is a great video tutorial) and leaves.

added some ribbon and a iron patch dragonfly:

To secured and embellished the center of the flowers, I added some pins with colored heads and finally found a little birdie for the final touch:

New dish set!

Nothing really crafty today.

All that snow is just so tiring.

So I am just going to share my new dish set that I bought not long ago;

I love everything with roses and I also love dishes!

I haven't bought any new tableware since I got married! So 21 years it's a bit long! Isn't it!

Well except for some Christmas ones!

I am so glad to be able to get this one.

And as my daughter's Birthday is really soon we will be able to use them in a few days!:

Little details in our Hallway make over!...

Browsing blog parties and great blogs about home decor made me want to make some make over in my house!
So we started with the hallway entrance; We changed the flooring not long ago because white flooring for an entrance it's not really a good idea!...



Then with a sample of that new floor we went to buy some paint (we choose dapper tan)



and we are almost done with this step! (we cannot see a big difference on the picture!)...

What I like the most is thinking of the decoration!
We bought a nice mirror that I will certainly paint



and I make some pretty switch plates with birds (Check my tutorial!):



It's not done yet! I will show you when we will be done with all the decoration!: New coat hanger, bird wall decor... if you have some ideas, please share them with us!...
